Vivaldi in the splendid setting of Ca’ Vittoria

The Four Seasons (1725) is the title of the first four solo violin concertos by Antonio Vivaldi, one of the foremost representatives of the Baroque musical period. The concertos recreate the sounds of nature as the seasons change: for example, the singing of birds in spring, a summer storm, the autumn grape harvest, and then the hunt, the icy winter wind, and falling rain.

An evening in the company of the famous Austrian composer

During the evening, we will listen to Divertimento No. 1 in D major KV 136, Divertimento No. 2 in B flat major KV 137, Divertimento No. 3 in F major K. 138 and Eine Kleine Natchtmusik. These pieces were written by W. A. Mozart to entertain the audience with music of fresh musicality, featuring a mix of dance-like melodies and brief virtuosic passages, particularly for the first violin. We might consider it as ‘post-dinner music’ for a delightful and relaxing evening.

Prosecco Ca’ Vittoria goes abroad

At Ca’ Vittoria we often see foreign vehicles, including those from the Baltic countries, because they all ask to taste our Prosecco Superiore DOCG, elegant and fruity, with notes of pear, apple, peach, rose, raspberry… It has a freshness as well as a savoury taste that make it pleasant and versatile.

Our selected wines travel from the North to the South of the Baltic peninsula to Estonia and the beautiful medieval city of Tallinn; from Latvia to the art-nouveau capital Riga; and then on to the small but beautiful city of Vilnius in Lithuania. We are delighted about this collaboration, because we have an important feature in common: the historic centres of these cities are UNESCO World Heritage Sites, like our beautiful Prosecco Hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene. Maybe that’s why they also drink Ca’ Vittoria Prosecco in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania!

The British drink Prosecco Ca’ Vittoria too

For some time now Ca’ Vittoria has been a destination for tourists from all over the world. Our appreciated guests certainly include the British, who love to spend a few days in the midst of nature, tasting our Prosecco Superiore DOCG, accompanied by a selection of cured meats, cheeses and local delicacies. Tastings take place in our house or, when the weather is fine, in our outdoor courtyard, immersed in the greenery of the Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Hills, a Unesco World Heritage Site.

The discovery of this extraordinary fruit of the earth and ancient wisdom has not left them indifferent, and so they come from across the Channel to purchase supplies and replicate this wonderful experience on their island too. The British drink Ca’ Vittoria Prosecco too!

Grape harvest, must, wine: the ritual is renewed

What’s in a glass of Prosecco Superiore DOCG Ca’ Vittoria? We appreciate its colour, let ourselves be inebriated by its fragrances, and savour its many taste sensations. But this marvellous fruit of the earth is the final goal of a long journey that begins with the grape harvest.

The grape harvest at Ca’ Vittoria is always a magical moment! The physical and mental effort, the optimism for the new vintage and the uncertainty of working with the weather, the gratification of seeing the harvest and the exciting experience of the new must turning into wine: every year this ancient rite is renewed.
Remember all this when you savour a glass of Prosecco Superiore DOCG Ca’ Vittoria, the fruit of our wonderful Prosecco Hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene and the passionate work of the men and women of Ca’ Vittoria. Book your tasting now!

An award for Ca’ Vittoria

It is always a great pleasure when one of our guests appreciates the wines of Ca’ Vittoria. When this appreciation comes from Falstaff, one of the most authoritative publications in the German-speaking world, it is a very welcome recognition.

This year, our wines achieved great scores in the Falstaff Prosecco Trophy 2023 ranking.
In particular:

Thanks to the Falstaff staff for this wonderful evaluation that confirms our work. We look forward to seeing you at Ca’ Vittoria, to taste a glass of our Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG together.

Ca’ Vittoria in the Prosecco Hills

Our Ca’ Vittoria winery occupies approximately 10 hectares of land in the heart of the Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco hills, a Unesco World Heritage Site. The unique scenery of this territory has been included in the Unesco World Heritage List as a cultural landscape, as it represents an important example of the extraordinary interaction between man and nature that has created a panorama of singular beauty.

The Prosecco Hills of Conegliano Valdobbiadene, a Unesco World Heritage Site

Unesco, the United Nations agency that deals with education, science and culture, has created a list of sites of historical, natural or cultural value, considered to be of universal interest and of great significance for all humanity.

The long road to Unesco recognition

The journey to achieving Unesco recognition for the Prosecco Hills lasted 10 years and required determination and shared purpose to reach the result. Here are the main phases.

  • In 2008, the Consortium for the Protection of Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco DOCG launched the project for the recognition of the Hills of Conegliano and Valdobbiadene as a Unesco World Heritage Site as an exceptional example of a cultural landscape.
  • In 2010, the site was included in the Ministry of Cultural Heritage’s Proposal List, the first formal step towards the candidature.
  • In 2014, the Temporary Aim Association Colline di Conegliano Valdobbiadene World Heritage Site was set up, bringing together the public and private entities involved in the project and launching activities for the study, documentation and enhancement of the area.
  • In 2017, the candidacy was made official by the Italian National Commission for UNESCO, which started the dossier evaluation procedure.
  • In 2019, the Prosecco Conegliano Valdobbiadene Hills were added to the UNESCO World Heritage List, becoming the 55th Italian site and the 10th Italian cultural landscape to receive this prestigious recognition.

A cultural and gastronomic heritage

The Colline del Prosecco Conegliano Valdobbiadene are an extraordinary example of a cultural landscape, the result of the virtuous interaction between nature and man over the centuries. From the terrace of Ca’ Vittoria it is possible to observe how winegrowers have adapted and transformed the rugged, mountainous terrain, giving rise to a distinctive chequered appearance, with rows of tall vines alternating with woods, villages and crops. The ancient methods of cultivation, still practised today, have made it possible to produce a wine of the highest quality, the Prosecco Superiore DOCG, a symbol of Veneto’s cultural and gastronomic heritage that is recognised throughout the world as an excellent example of Made in Italy.

Contact Ca’ Vittoria, visit the Unesco Heritage Hills

Being added to the Unesco World Heritage list has meant receiving a prestigious international recognition and assuming responsibility for safeguarding and maintaining the site for future generations. In addition to refined oenology, tastings, stays in the countryside and various recreational activities, at Ca’ Vittoria we are committed to careful stewardship of the land to prevent it from being compromised or destroyed. It is our heritage, to be preserved and enhanced.

Here you can visit the vineyards, take part in the grape harvest and see how the vine-growers apply the ancient methods of cultivation, falling into the slow and repetitive rhythm of nature that is constantly renewed every season. Come and see for yourself: book at Ca’ Vittoria!

Calici di stelle: wine culture, territory culture

Every year Calici di stelle returns to the Prosecco Hills. This Italian wine and food event celebrates the night of San Lorenzo and the fascination of shooting stars. Ca’ Vittoria is always an enthusiastic participant in this highlight event of the summer that takes place on Italy’s oldest wine route.

On the occasion of Calici di Stelle, between the end of July and mid-August, the Ca’ Vittoria wine cellar stays open to offer the excitement of wine tasting in one of the most enchanting locations in Italy. Today, as in ancient times, the small vineyards on the hillsides coexist with corners of forest, woods, hedges and rows of trees, witnesses of civilisation and exceptional naturalistic value, as well as virtuous practices in the relationship between man and nature. In this space of intrinsic beauty, savouring a glass of the prized Prosecco Superiore DOCG Ca’ Vittoria is an experience worth trying.

The food and wine event of the Italian summer

Wine lovers wait all year round for Calici di Stelle, a successful event that celebrates its thirtieth anniversary in 2023. Every year, the event promotes the culture of quality wine and conscious drinking and gives support to the many Italian wine companies.

The night of San Lorenzo is famous for the meteor shower visible in the night sky and in some local traditions is associated with the grape harvest. As an old proverb says, ‘San Lorenzo cooks the grapes and the must’, i.e. the saint’s heat ripens the grapes and encourages fermentation. This August night, with its starry sky and meteorites, is a particularly striking occasion to celebrate the culture of wine and the beauty of nature during the summer.

An event of national and international importance

Organised by the ‘Movimento Turismo del Vino’, Calici di stelle involves participating wine cellars and wineries, offering tastings of wines and typical products, accompanied by music and shows, attracting tourists from all over the world. Numerous wineries, squares and cities throughout Italy are preparing to welcome wine enthusiasts for “a pleasant evening that combines wine culture with astronomy and entertainment, with a festive atmosphere to act as an overarching theme”. It seems to us that the definition of Angelo Radica, President of ‘Città del Vino’, is the best summary of the event.

Calici di stelle at the Castle of Conegliano

The stunning setting of the Castle of Conegliano has often hosted the event, and this year too there will be tastings of the characteristic Prosecco Superiore DOCG and specialities of the Marca Trevigiana such as the formajo Inbriago or the typical ossocollo. Calici di Stelle will provide exciting experiences, amidst nature and good wine in exclusive locations and a unique landscape setting.

Calici di stelle at Ca’ Vittoria: take part!

At Ca’ Vittoria this is considered a privileged opportunity to discover the territory and culture of our land, a Unesco heritage site from 2019, home of the famous Prosecco Superiore DOCG of excellent and renowned quality. During the nights of August, particularly on the Night of San Lorenzo, let’s make a toast together, making a wish for each falling star.

Those who love high-quality wine and want to experience immersion in nature are welcome to join us at Conegliano. Calici di Stelle is the occasion you are looking for: visit Ca’ Vittoria!
